I just tried under Solaris 9 and CDE and it disappeared. I've used the 64-bit version though. Could you try with the 64-bit version to see if it behaves correctly?

Note that on Solaris Sparc we use GTK 2.6.9 for our 64-bit version. For the 32-bit version we use 2.4.4.
