Synopsis: Changing Editor format clears contents of status line

Description
The compilation status flashes and then disappears when I compile
and there is a class in the Editor and the editor format is
something other than Text. Why does changing the Editor format
have any effect on the contents of the status line?
This is very confusing if one is keeping an eye on the status line
to see whether a compilation is done.

No, it is not fixed. To reproduce, drop a class in the Editor. Freeze system
and compile C code. When status line says "Background C compilation succeeded",
click on a different format for the Editor than the current one (or drop a different
class in the Editor). Status line is cleared.

Note that dropping a class in the Context window does not clear the status line.

I think this is fixed in 5.7.
