Synopsis: Please add -silent option to command line compiler

Description

It would be nice if "ec" had a -silent or -quiet option, which would generate absolutely no output -- not even the compiler version and the C compilation progress -- unless there is an error.

If there are errors or warnings then of course these would be displayed.
