Synopsis: Unable to create root class for new project; unable to select text in errors

Description
It used to be (perhaps back with 5.7) that I could create a new project naming a non-existent root class, then when I got the "Unknown root class" error I could copy the class name from the error message into the "Class" combo box field in toolbar, and get the class wizard.

Now I can't do either of those things. Viewing error messages, trying to select the text in an error is impossible, instead the entire row gets selected.

Entering the class name into the combo box is a no-op.

Please restore the old behavior. Ideally I'd like to be able to use the class wizard to create this class so I get a generated class skeleton that conforms to our standards. I can't use the normal "New project" wizard because of our dependence on the Eiffel Launcher tool.
